A talented ensemble of dancers, who range from 10 to 18 years of age, are the heartbeat of TapCo, which pays tribute to the masters of tap and presents cutting-edge rhythm tap. Students in Cobble Hill, Victoria, and Nanaimo will experience this breathtaking show.

Dianna David poses as Estrude de Bompoof in her one-woman show, which features juggling, hip-hop dance, mime and clowning. Students in Zeballos, Kyuquot, Tahsis and Gold River will be treated to this thoughtful presentation, in which the main character is forced to re-examine not only her assumptions about other people, but also what she knows about herself.

What: Down-the-Hall Contra Dance When: April 21 Where: Miracle Beach Elementary
250 students take to the hallways with their dance partners. A few young fiddlers rosin up their bows, the PA is turned up nicely, the music starts and the entire school twirls and flows through a 15 minute contra dance. Look for great improvising, rhythm galore and lots of smiles.

A series of events in partnership with other community groups and the school including: a poetry contest on theme "Ways to Save the Planet", painting class on natural themes, outdoor painting workshop, museum will have an exhibit highliting the local environment, hands-on event at the community garden, seedling exchange, "Celebrate Arts!" potluck dinner and exhibit. Renowned for artistry and innovation, Red Sky is a dynamic company shaping contemporary Aboriginal performance in dance, theatre and music. Students will see a spectacular performance of "Raven Stole the Sun," in which Raven hatches a brilliant scheme for stealing the stars, the moon and the sun and ends up bringing light to the people of the world.

Queen Margaret's School presents an Arts & Culture Salon, including an Art Exhibition for students in grades K-12; an evening performance featuring band, choir, dance and drama students; and cultural booths displaying information on international cultures and sustainability. The workshop taking place during Arts and Culture Week is a Watercolour Workshop for Therese Guillemette's grade 3/4 students. After looking at examples of famed watercolour paintings and discussing the various artistic elements, students will create their own watercolour paintings.
