What: Re-Use Toy Art Show When: Apr. 24, 10 am - 4 pm Where: David Hoy Elementary School Gym
The arts council has partnered with the schools in Fort St. James to have an Art Show with the green theme of re-cycling their old, broken, used toys in art forms.  A show of children's work using old, found and reused toys as a base for sculptures, wall hangings, mobiles and collages. Basing their performance on old-time jugglers and comedians, this pair uses their different personalities to create a hilarious comedy routine, sure to have the audience in fits of giggles. Students will be treated to an amazing show.

Artists available in the community will come into the school to teach students about their medium. All students in the school will participate in some type of art activity. Speech Arts celebrations will also take place this week.

The Fine Arts Revue is a show for students, by students. Student artwork will be displayed in the lobby of the theatre, the drama class will perform 3 plays (one student-written), and the concert and jazz bands will play. Parents are invited to attend.

Hundreds of gumboots are being painted, decoupaged and altered by artists of all ages and from the community of Prince Rupert and surrounding villages to celebrate Prince Rupert's one hundredth birthday as an incorporated City.
