Using music, movement and make-believe, Bobs & Lolo introduce inspire students with an awareness and appreciation for the natural world. Since 2003, these educators turned entertainers have been capturing the hearts and minds of children, parents and educators alike. They will perform for students in West Vancouver and Surrey.

Monster Theatre was formed in 2000 and has been travelling across the nation ever since. It has won numerous awards, including the illustrious Just For Laughs Frankie Award for Best Comedy. Students in Delta, Port Coquitlam, and Coquitlam will be treated to a hilarious show.

What: South Asian Arts - Arts Week Tour When: April 21-22, 2010 Where: West Heights Elementary - Mission, Valleycliffe Elementary - Squamish
South Asian Arts aims to broaden cultural understanding and keep South Asian culture and traditions alive. Through an introduction to Bhangra music and dance, students in Mission and Squamish will build their understanding and appreciation for art and culture, while developing their self-confidence and self-discipline in a fun and interactive atmosphere.

What: Milton Randall - Arts Week Tour When: April 21-22, 2010 Where: Kent Elementary - Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs Elementary - Harrison Hot Springs
Milton Randall has studied music under recognized Brazilian and African masters. A former educator, he is an engaging and fluid performer. Students in Kamloops, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs will be treated to his full-day participatory workshop, in which he works with students one class at a time, then caps off the day with a huge conga line.

As one of Canada's first Midi Orchestras, Digital Guise has been performing for over ten years. Their show reworks Canadian favourites in a new medium, and encourages students to explore their creativity using technology. Their Arts Week tour takes them to schools in Vancouver, Delta and Port Coquitlam.

First Nations Artist-in-Residence, Carmen McKay, along with Art Club, Art 9, Drawing and Painting 11/12 and Studio Arts Photography 11 students unveil the end tables, ottomans, and benches that they created by reusing, reducing and recycling salvaged materials. Their original, functional pieces are located in the school's Memorial Garden, Front Foyer, Senior Art Gallery and Grad Lounge.

Arts Alive is an inspiring range of artworks by over 100 secondary students from across Burnaby School District 41. From a variety of media, refined drawings, photographs, sculptures, video and painterly expressions of personal imagery offer insight into the thoughts and skills of these young artists. Students in grades 8 -12 submitted work for consideration, and this exhibit represents just a portion of the talent and creativity shown by these Burnaby students. Since their debut at the Vancouver Children's Festival in 1990, Axe Capoeira has been performing throughout North America and Europe.

On Saturday April 24th2010, in celebration of Arts &Culture Week (April 18 to 24) and Earth Day (April 22) the North Vancouver Community Arts Council is offering a free guided tour through the wetlands of the Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats. Led by a wild life conservationist from the Wild Life Bird Trust, participants will learn about the importance of preserving wetlands and other areas like Maplewood Flats that are still in their natural state. During the tour artists Alexis Cawood and Sharon Christian will share with the group their artistic perspectives on capturing the beauty of the Maplewood Flats and its residents. Participants please bring your camera and/or sketch pads to capture images for an exhibition, and if you're a writer, bring your journal to describe your experience. The objective of the exhibition is to educate the public about the importance of preserving what's left of our natural waterfront and wetlands in this rapidly changing city through the images and written words of the participants, and will also give worth to getting out and enjoying the natural state of the waterfront that is abundant in birds, seals, deer and many other creatures that are being encroached upon and forgotten in the hectic pace of city life. This survey of the graphic work of one of the most critical figures in First Nations printmaking reveals an artist of exceptional imagination, compositional skill and visual power. Perhaps more than any other artist, Davidson has championed graphic means of expression and has substantially expanded the vocabulary of forms and colours available through traditional First Nations iconography. The result is an art practice that is deeply imbedded in Haida culture, yet speaks to present-day personal, social and political realities. Questioning the nature of refuse, the scope of global consumption, and the limits of ceramic art, Ian Johnston's artwork probes humanity's complex relationship to the objects of modern convenience and the environment at large.

Description: Come celebrate Arts and Culture Week and Earth Day Join local artist Sharon Kallis for a hands-on workshop to create woven sculptures for the CRAB Park marsh pond. These forms will serve as perches and nesting locations for park birds. Learn about the plants and wildlife of CRAB Park while helping to make this small ecosystem more liveable for birds in the Downtown Eastside. No experience necessary.
