"Sing for the Cure" is a cycle of ten songs, each sung from the perspective of someone affected by breast cancer.The songs explore the full range of human emotion, from despair to hope, from grief to humour, and from loss to love. The Canadian premiere of "Sing for the Cure" takes place on Saturday, April 25, 8:00 pm, at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. There will be over 200 singers from 22 choirs and choruses, including the host choir GLASS Youth. Over 40 singers are coming from the US, from cities as far-flung as Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Portland, Salem, and Seattle. These singers are "Sing for the Cure" veterans, who have already performed this song cycle in their cities. Proceeds from the concert will be divided equally among three breast cancer research organizations: the BC Cancer Foundation, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Susan G.
