bring together the community to celebrate the past 40
years and next 40 years of the Creston Valley arts
community, by showcasing artists of all ages and several
different artistic forms: visual, performing, and
literary. It includes a series of interactive workshops
to engage participants in direct artistic experiences
throughout the week. Takes place at the Blue Awning
Gallery in Creston and other locations around town. For

Culture Week Extravaganza April 20-23 Rocky Mountain
Elementary This year Rocky Mountain Elementary is
celebrating Arts Week with an array of various events
spanning three days. Events include: a Metis Dance
entitled, "The Red River Jig", presentations and art
demonstrations by artists Judy James (a local artist
specializing figure drawing) and Teri Cleverly, an "Art
Walk", and a presentation by Colleen Trozzo, an
aboriginal support worker who will be working with the
students to create aboriginal arts and crafts activities

| What: 45 Books in 45 Minutes |

| 9 volunteer
book reviewers (adults and children) will have 1 minute
per book to tell the audience about 5 of their favourite
books, totalling 45 books reviewed in 45 minutes. A
volunteer MC will hold the stopwatch and keep things
moving along. Refreshments and door prizes (books
donated by CBAL) add to the fun. Attendees receive a
list of the books to be reviewed, with space for their
own notes, spend a congenial evening at the local
library and leave fired up about new books to read.
